Hydrochemical Science Driving Evidence-Based Environmental Decision-Making and Strategic Risk Governance.
Research Impact
About Our Research Group
The Hydrochemistry Laboratory at Universiti Putra Malaysia advances environmental chemistry across water, soil, and biota to understand contaminant dynamics and their implications for ecosystem and human health. Our interdisciplinary team integrates analytical chemistry, geochemistry, material science, environmental health, and environmental forensics to address complex challenges in environmental quality assessment, source attribution, contaminant fate and transport, remediation and risk evaluation. Through strategic collaboration with government, industry, and international research partners, we translate scientific evidence into policy-relevant solutions that support environmental resilience and planetary health.
Advanced environmental forensics powered by high-resolution analytics, isotope tracing, and multi-matrix contaminant profiling. Translating chemical evidence into environmental and public health risk assessment frameworks that inform regulation, strengthen governance, and enable science-based policy reform.
Advanced research training integrating analytical excellence, interdisciplinary science, and real-world environmental problem solving. Developing high-impact scholars and strategic leaders who shape environmental governance, industry practice, and planetary health solutions.
